At On The Move Insurance Agency, we understand self-storage because we come from the self-storage industry. Built by a family dedicated to the success of storage owners and operators, our mission is to provide industry-specific solutions that cater directly to your needs. 

Our Story
On The Move Insurance Agency, LLC is a proud subsidiary of On The Move, Inc. Our journey began with founder Maury Westerdale, who opened his first self-storage facility in 1978 in Dearborn, Michigan. His hands-on experience revealed gaps in the industry that needed addressing. This insight led to the creation of On The Move Trucks, designed to offer turnkey rental programs, enabling owners to set their rates and promote their businesses effectively.

Meet Our Staff

CJ Stratte PRESIDENT/CEO

CJ Stratte’s journey in the storage industry started at a young age, working alongside her family at their storage facilities and learning the ins and outs of day-to-day operations. After 15 successful years leading the Marketing and Sales Teams at On The Move, CJ’s hard work and expertise propelled her to the role of President/CEO.

Throughout her career, CJ has been recognized as a thought leader, contributing her insights to industry publications and sharing her knowledge at national and state conventions. Her well-rounded experience, from managing a family-owned facility to driving strategic growth at a leading company, has given her a unique understanding of what storage operators need to thrive.

Academically, CJ holds a BSBA in Marketing from Hawaii Pacific University and an Executive MBA from Texas Woman’s University, further cementing her status as a knowledgeable and capable leader in the industry.

When she’s not busy conquering the professional world, CJ enjoys spending time with her family. She has a stepdaughter, Maddie, who is a talented tattoo artist, and a son, Tristan, who is a master Rubik’s cube solver. Her youngest, Peyton, is her constant companion and a cheerleader. CJ’s husband is an avid soccer fan, coach, and player. In her free time, CJ looks forward to getting back on the golf course and spending more time relaxing on the water.

Stacie Maxwell DIRECTOR OF INSURANCE

Stacie Maxwell brings over 23 years of self-storage industry expertise, having served as VP of Marketing and Training at Universal Storage Group. During her tenure, she led branding, marketing, and award-winning training initiatives for 70+ facilities. Now, as Director of Insurance at On The Move, Inc., Stacie is focused on driving growth and enhancing the customer experience through the SecureLease Tenant Protection program. Known for her strategic insight, Stacie is also a sought-after speaker, respected industry writer, and trusted advisor. Her kindness-first approach and generosity have helped countless operators succeed in self-storage, and she remains a supportive friend to the community.

Before her self-storage career, Stacie gained valuable experience in management, corporate training, finance, and procurement across various industries. Stacie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Business Management and a Bachelor of Science (BBS) in Art Education. She also earned the CSSM™ designation from the National Self Storage Association.

Beyond her professional achievements, Stacie enjoys spending time outdoors, kayaking, crocheting, cooking, and watching football. Her husband is in sales and also a tournament bass fisherman and avid UGA Bulldogs football fan. Stacie’s oldest son (“the Big”) is a former Marine and now a successful salesman, while her twins (“the Littles”) are still in school. Her son excels as a football player and championship wrestler, and her daughter is a standout track and cross-country runner. Stacie’s dedication to both her career and family reflects her passion for helping others achieve their best, whether in the self-storage industry or her personal life.

Mike Woolard PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Mike has worked in real estate, insurance, and sales for twenty-five years. In addition to buying, selling, and negotiating property prices for the largest real estate team in South Texas, and holding insurance brokers licenses in three states, he has also run a commercial printing business for twelve years. Mike has seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of selling and buying homes, businesses, vehicles, and insurance. An Aggie born and bred, WHOOP – Mike holds a Business Management degree from Texas A&M University. For the last five years, Mike has held top sales positions at On The Move working in the Truck-Leasing department where he expanded the company’s pipeline focusing on bringing in new customers while also actively engaging expired customer leads to reinvigorating and nourishing those customer relationships. In 2022, Mike shifted focus to the insurance side of the company, actively working to sell both trucks and insurance at the same time. Over the last year, Mike took over the SecureLease Program as Director and manages the policies of over 1,700 Self-Storage facilities nationwide, including 10% of the ISS Top 100 operators. When not traveling for work or collaborating with his On The Move work family, he is either on the tennis court or on a lake fishing. Mike is married to Melissa and has a son Hayden at UT Austin and a daughter Baylee at Ole Miss University.

Charly Burch TENANT PROTECTION ADMINISTRATOR

Charly was born in Newport News, Virginia, but grew up in East Texas. After high school, she entered the workforce and held many job titles, including CSR in retail, Custom Framer, Child Care Provider, Legal Assistant, and Stay-at-Home Mom. She attended Tyler Junior College, where she earned an Associate Degree in Psychology in December of 2019. In January of 2021, she and her family relocated to Boerne, Texas, and in August of 2022 she came aboard as Operations Administrator at On The Move, Inc. In January 2024, she was promoted to Tenant Protection Administrator for On The Move Insurance Agency. She takes pride in providing the best service she can to customers and colleagues alike. Outside of work, she enjoys painting, traveling, and spending time with her family, friends, and pets.

Sandra Meckel CLAIMS ADJUSTER

Sandy Meckel’s journey working in the storage industry started in 2023 as the first staff Claims Adjuster for On The Move. After over 10 successful years handling auto, property and commercial claims, she handles from start to finish helping customers. Throughout her career expanding 25 plus years in customer service, she goes above and beyond to help others in their critical times.

Academically, she holds a BA-Business Administration from University of the Incarnate word in San Antonio, TX. The degree helped structure her working in Human Resources for 14 years. Understanding business and working with employees. Acquired her Master of Art’s Business and Organizational Security Management, from Webster University School of Business and Technology. Certification of a Legal Principal Claims Specialist from American Education Institute. Currently attending Risk & Insurance Education Alliance, for Claims Risk Manager Program designation.

When not busy handling claims, Sandy spends her time raising honeybees, baking, upholstering and riding her motorcycle. She has one daughter, Carol Ann, a very talented quilter and blogger for metal detecting equipment. Carol Ann and husband Rob live in Florida, I travel at least twice a year to visit and hit the ocean on their boat. Sandy looks forward to winter in Texas to spend time quilting and riding motorcycle.
